Находится в штате Нью-Мексико; занимает площадь в 386 кв. км. Здесь проживают около 2 тыс. (1990) индейцев племени тива [ Tiwa]. Большинство занято в сельском хозяйстве. Индейцы бережно сохраняют свою богатую культуру и традиции: проводятся пляски Оленя, Черепахи и Захода солнца; последняя проводится ежегодно в конце сентября и является важнейшим обрядом благодарности за урожай. 1.1) тива; тигуаИндейское племя из группы племен пуэбло [ Pueblo] долины р. Рио-Гранде [ Rio Grande River], населявшее район от севера Нью-Мексико до запада Техаса. В конце XVII в. насчитывало более 12 тыс. человек. Главное занятие - земледелие. Ныне около 8 тыс. индейцев племени живут в резервациях Таос [ Taos Reservation], Пикурис [ Picuris Reservation], Сандия [ Sandia Reservation], Ислета [ Isleta Reservation] в штате Нью-Мексико и Тигуа [ Tigua Reservation] в штате Техас.
